Steve Pageot, a multi-platinum producer and influential figure in the Canadian music community, has just been elected Governor of the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy/Grammys.
On June 25 in New York, Steve will be inducted into his new role at the Recording Academy’s head office.
This appointment confirms his professional status with industry leaders in Canada and now in the U.S. The Chapter is chaired by Lee Dannay following this announcement, Steve Pageot posted a word of thanks:

According to the information obtained, Steve Pageot is the first from Canada to be Governor in the history of the Recording Academy/Grammys to hold this position. His title of Governor does not surprise anyone in the United States, more precisely in New York, whose Chapter voted unanimously to elect him.

Steve, a renowned producer in Canada, fulfilled the dream of many producers by working with legendary artists, including the famous Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, on his solo album "Thug Mentality 1999" on the title «The War Iz On», featuring none other than Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and Layzie Bone.
Ron Lawrence, nicknamed "Amen Ra" in the industry, took Steve Pageot under his wing in January 1998. Lawrence, a member of Bad Boy Entertainment’s HITMEN team of producers, became Pageot’s mentor. This rewarding experience pushed Steve to surpass himself.
His impressive CV doesn’t stop there. Driven by his passion, he continues to develop artists through his company Pageot Productions. He is also involved in the development of young Montreal artist Sofia, 19 years old, who has aroused public interest with a video showing her performing in studio.
Steve is not limited to North America; he also produces on the African continent, producing Angolan artist Ndaka Yo Wiñi, who currently lives in Angola. Ndaka, an Afrobeat-style producer, which is one of the Steve’s productions under his music production company Pageot Productions, distributed by Sony Music Entertainment Canada - The Orchard.
When asked about his appointment, Steve Pageot humbly replied:
"I feel validated, I have a leadership responsibility, I am no longer just a producer, now I can help future generations and give visibility to the Canadian music industry in the United States, Canadian artists to access and enroll in the Recording Academy/Grammys."
